The outer dike repair site has two floating docks. Dock 1 measures 105 metres in length and 19 meters in width and can manage vessels with a weight of 5,000 tonnes (abt. 10,000 dwt).
The outer dike repair site has two floating docks. Dock 2 measures 176 metres in length and 27 meters in width and can manage vessels with a weight of 10,000 tonnes (abt. 20,000 dwt).
The repair facilities of Royal Niestern Sander include a slipway with a length of 147 metres and a lightweight of 1,500 tonnes per ship. There are also several repair quays available, both inside and outside the dikes.
Niestern Sander has a fully equipped workshop. Extensive machinery equipment enables the shipyard to carry out steel, electrical and mechanical repairs without leaving premises.
In the Eemshaven, Niestern Sander carries out a wide range of port repairs, services to the offshore (wind) industry and provides project management support to shipowners and operators.
The tug Smit Singapore came to Delfzijl for its regular five-year special survey, but also had to repair a significant damage on the port side. The carpentry department of Niestern Sander was called in for this.Read story
Over an intense nine-month period, Royal Niestern Sander Shipyard firmly took on the Arctic Sunrise in a refit project. During the extensive overhaul, nearly all of the accommodation and work areas of this Greenpeace vessel were renewed, granting the vessel at least another 15 years of service.Read story
