Four CO₂ tanks loaded for Carbon Destroyer 1
This week marks an important milestone in the development of the Carbon Destroyer 1, the innovative CO₂ carrier currently under construction at shipyard Royal Niestern Sander in Delfzijl. In Harelbeke, Belgium, four large CO₂ tanks were successfully loaded onto two inland vessels. These tanks are essential components of the carrier’s storage system and will enable the vessel to transport captured CO₂ safely and efficiently.
DP2 system installation in full swing aboard ‘Carbon Destroyer 1’
Following the arrival of the Carbon Destroyer 1 in the port of Delfzijl, Royal Niestern Sander and Royal Wagenborg have entered a critical outfitting phase. The focus is now on the installation of the vessel’s dynamic positioning (DP2) systems, which are essential for safe and precise offshore operations as part of the Greensand Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project led by INEOS Energy.
