Supervisor

  • Location: Farmsum
  • Hours: 40
  • Education: mbo

At Niestern Sander, we build beautiful ships. Are you interested in managing these complex projects, do you have an eye for safety, and do you know how to empower your colleagues? Then we have a fantastic job for you!

What will you be doing?

You will coordinate the construction of our new ships. We are looking for someone for section construction and someone for extension construction. Together with the production manager and assistant foremen, you will prepare the projects and draw up a schedule. You will manage the foremen at your location and be responsible for the operational colleagues. In addition to your administrative work, you will be on the shop floor several times a day. You will ensure that the right things are done in the right order at the right time. In this way, you will ensure that the schedule at your location is met. If it is not possible to meet the schedule, you will notify the production manager in good time and help to find solutions.

Safety is an important issue for us at the shipyard. If you see unsafe situations, you intervene and, if necessary, speak to your colleagues about it. You also ensure that the workplace is clean and tidy. Furthermore, you make suggestions to your fellow supervisors on how to approach work differently, solve problems or prevent them. Together, you are responsible for the quality and dimensions of the ships.

As a supervisor, you take care of your people. You regularly check in with them to see how things are going and ensure that you have sufficient capacity to do the work. You also maintain contact with colleagues who are off sick, conduct appraisal interviews and contribute to the development of your colleagues.

Why us?

  • A responsible and varied job at a leading and stable shipyard.
  • A salary in line with scale J of the Metal and Electrical Engineering Collective Labour Agreement, depending on age, education and experience.
  • A good pension scheme.

  • 40-hour working week with 27 days' leave + 13 ADV days.
  • A no-nonsense workplace, where people work very hard, but there is also room for fun

Who are you?

  • You have at least an MBO4 level qualification and have thorough knowledge of and experience with shipbuilding
