Repair to ferry Vlieland successful

At the start of this week, the ferry Vlieland from Rederij Doeksen arrived at the dock location of shipyard Niestern Sander in Delfzijl for damage repair. The ship had leakage at the seals of the propeller shaft and had to be put dry for repair work.

On arrival at the port of Delfzijl, the Vlieland was immediately put in one of the dry docks. After that, the repair work started immediately to have the ship in service again on the Wadden Islands before the weekend.

In just a few days a lot of work was done, such as removing the screw, uncoupling and removing the propeller shaft, pulling over seals, replacing everything and cleaning the grid coolers.

The ferry has left for Harlingen as planned this afternoon.
