Niestern Sander holds keel laying ceremony for ‘Geo Ranger’ at shipyard in Delfzijl

Royal Niestern Sander recently held a keel laying ceremony for the Geo Ranger at her shipyard in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The vessel is a hydrographic survey vessel for Geo Plus B.V. During the ceremony, Geo Plus founder Jan Loots undertook the traditional role of placing the coin under the keel.

Sustainable ship design

Niestern Sander and Conoship International have designed the future-proof vessel for long-lasting durability for operations over the coming decades. Particular attention has been paid to sustainability and performance. That is why the vessel will be equipped with a complete diesel electrical propulsion installation.

The hydrographic survey vessel will be built under the supervision of Lloyd’s Register and is scheduled for delivery April 2020.
