Maintenance works on ‘Bremen Fighter’ at dock location Delfzijl nearly completed

Anchor handling tug Bremen Fighter, one of the tugs of Unterweser Reederei GmbH (part of Boluda), is about to leave the dock location of Niestern Sander Ship Repair. Bremen Fighter spent several weeks in the Dutch shipyard undergoing several maintenance and renewal works.

Various maintenance and repair works

Upon arrival of the Bremen Fighter, the vessel was docked in dock 2. Here, the maintenance and repair works could start, such as high pressure cleaning of the hull, painting and conserving, replacing anodes and repair the Fi-Fi ducts. In addition various components of the tug were cleaned thoroughly: from bow thruster tunnels to tanks, and from sea inlet chests to cooler of the main engine.

During the course of the project, a leakage was found in the propeller shaft. Currenty the crew of Niestern Sander is repairing this issue. The Bremen Fighter is expected to leave the shipyard mid next week.
