Royal Niestern Sander is a member of the Metal and Shipbuilding Training institute in Groningen. For young people looking for a job as a Ship plater, Mechanic or Welder, the company has an annual number of vacancies for a job/apprenticeship. If you have a VMBO diploma (or similar level), you can qualify for a paid job/ apprenticeship of 22 months on BBL2 level. Alternately in blocks of 2 months you will be at the school in Groningen or at work at the shipyard. Throughout the training period you will attend 1 day of theory lessons at the Noorderpoort College. In addition to the salary on the basis of minimum wages, the company pays all training costs.

After the job interview the next step is to get to know your future colleagues for a few days (if possible) by working on, for example, a new ship, a repair contract or a construction for the industry.
