Royal Niestern Sander has a technical Support Unit for the design and project management of new ships and major conversion projects.

The rich history in new building projects and the experience in ship repairs, are the foundation of an advanced technology centre where, in cooperation with the owner and co-makers, the most efficient building process and finished product are created.

Using the latest 3D engineering tools, the specific wishes of the client are translated into a (pre-) design and finally into the complete engineering of the ship that is being (re)built.

The Support Unit also coordinates the input to the engineering package by the many subcontractors and suppliers, with whom they closely cooperate. They also provide and supervise the outsourcing of specific design activities, such as hull form optimization, model tests and noise and vibration consultancy.
